Dates: 1-10 October 2021
Location: Kotor, Montenegro
Deadline for applications: 2 August 2021

The artist exchange will take place in the framework of Creative Europe: Culture programmes’ project “Invisible Lives” implemented by Rucka Art Foundation (Latvia), Kulturanova (Serbia) and ART 365 (Montenegro). In Montenegro filmmakers from Latvia, Montenegro and Serbia (5 from each country) will work together with people with disabilities to develop short stories.

The project partners are looking forward to receiving motivated applications from filmmaking students (directors, directors of photography, editors, producers and sound operators/sound design specialists) from Latvia, Montenegro and Serbia, who are interested in working with people with disabilities from Montenegro to develop short stories about their lives. The Selection Committee composed of representatives of project partners will evaluate all applications and participants will be chosen based on their previous experience, motivation and artistic merit.

The Invisible Lives project aims to bring to light the stories behind the invisible lives of marginalized groups of society through the transnational mobility of artists coming from Latvia, Montenegro and Serbia working with analog photography, filmmaking and devised theatre. In each of the countries, a group of artists from Latvia, Montenegro and Serbia is going to work with one of the marginalized groups of society. In Cesis, Latvia, photographers will work together with the visually impaired creating photographs and soundscapes for a traveling exhibition. In Novi Sad, Serbia performing arts professionals used the method of devised theatre to tell the stories of the LGBT community. In Kotor, Montenegro filmmakers will work together with people with disabilities to develop short stories.

The project will cover participants’ travel from their home country to Montenegro accommodation and catering costs. Each artist will receive a grant of 500 EUR upon finishing their project.
